What Happens When My Child Turns 18? – Overview of Decision- Making Supports for Adults with Disabilities in DC

The Jenny Hatch Justice Project of Quality Trust for Individuals with Disabilities (JHJP) provides free legal services to low-income District residents with disabilities who have questions about their rights to make decisions or who are facing or are in overly restrictive guardianships. We are generously funded by the D.C. Bar Foundation to help serve the community.

Please join us for our training on alternatives to guardianship! During this event, you will learn practical information about what happens with a person with a disability turns 18 years old and about the tools to support a person with a disability to make his or her own life decisions about education, housing, medical care, and other important life events. You will also have the opportunity to talk to Quality Trust attorneys and ask questions.
