Quality Trust Statement on Race Equality

We at Quality Trust are heartened by the recent verdict in the State of Minnesota vs Derek Chauvin trial and the promise and potential for healing it represents for our community and country.  Quality Trust celebrates inclusivity with a focus on people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our vision, mission, and daily activities.  Many of these people are also people of color.   As an organization, we embrace the belief that all people are created equal and should be afforded the same basic rights, respect and freedom from discrimination and undue violence.   We take this belief seriously and promote respect for human rights and equity in our daily work and interactions with people with disabilities, the families we meet, our staff, and all people within our community.

It is our hope at Quality Trust that all our fellow Americans will find the courage to live into the words in the preamble of the Constitution, “We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity “    “We” means all of us – no matter our color, background, sexual orientation, disability status or other characteristics of difference.   And the experience of justice, tranquility, defense, welfare, and the many blessings of liberty are the glue that binds us together into our more perfect union.   WE must be the change WE need, AND, this will only occur by each of us living the truth of those words to ensure a better America for ALL tomorrow.  We are proud to affirm our commitment to work internally and externally to fight discrimination, racism, and injustice for the people we work with, our colleagues, and the people in our broader community.
