Volunteers

Quality Trust welcomes volunteers from a variety of backgrounds and varying talents who are committed to supporting our work. We have ongoing opportunities to get involved directly with people who have developmental disabilities and their families or you can support our work by assisting staff in other ways.

Volunteers can serve as Citizen Advocates and assist people with developmental disabilities to be safe, healthy and make connections within the community. Other volunteers create long-term relationships with families where a member has developmental disabilities and provide one to one in home support. We also work closely with a local group of advocates with disabilities who can always use assistance as well. Our program volunteers receive lots of support to make their activities successful and rewarding.

Volunteers help us build our community of support by using their unique skills, talents and interests to get others involved. We know that our volunteers are busy people juggling many time commitments and we will work with you to find just the “right” fit! Some ideas about how you might contribute your time are:

  • Communications and Outreach:  Help spread the word about Quality Trust’s mission and build community support for people with developmental disabilities!  If communications is your talent, you can help us tell the stories of the people we meet and why the work of Quality Trust is so important. If you are a wiz with online media, perhaps you can help us start a blog to inform and connect people with disabilities, their families and other interested community members.
  • Fundraising:  Use your networking skills to raise donations for Quality Trust. You can volunteer as a member of our Development Committee or create your own strategy to expand our donor base by writing letters, creating a challenge campaign or throwing a friend-raising party!
  • Events:  We have an active calendar of awareness and fundraising events and we can always use an extra hand with planning, outreach and set-up. If you enjoy planning and executing unique, fun and productive events, we can use your help!

Give us a call if you are interested in contributing in any way. We’d love to hear your ideas! The possibilities are endless.
