Project Action
Project ACTION!, is the District's self-advocacy coalition for adults with developmental disabilities. The group's motto, "Nothing About us without Us," is one Quality Trust fully endorses. Members are residents of the District and Maryland and during their meetings learn new advocacy skills, attend presentations about current issues and support self-advocates to be trainers for other self-advocates, DDA staff; and service provider staff.
Project ACTION! is hosting their 2nd Self-Advocacy conference on Saturday, July 30, from 8:00am - 5:00pm, at Catholic University of America's Pryzbyla Center. Join other self-advocates, family members and professionals to learn more about advocacy and making a difference in your life. For questions regarding the conference contact Victor Robinson at 202-459-4003. A full-day with nine workshops scheduled, exhibitors, and a closing reception. Learn about different job options, learn to speak up for yourself, what are your rights, want to learn how to use computers; you can learn all this more at the Project ACTION! self-advocacy conference.
Project ACTION! meetings are held on the last Saturday of each month. For more information about Project ACTION! call Phyllis Holton at 202-448-1458.
