Annual Report
Our 2009 Annual Report gives you a snapshot of how Quality Trust makes a difference in the lives of the people we meet and represent. The stories in our Annual Report illustrate the struggles and triumphs of people with developmental disabilities in the District of Columbia. The stories tell of the wide range of people we support adn the ways that we help. While we are involved in many activities, our efforts our focused and coordinated through our "advocacy" to make more opportunities and better outcomes available to the people with developmental disabilities who depend on our assistance.

Our Findings/Results
Many improvements have been made in the structure of the “system”. There are many
hopeful developments. Unfortunately, people’s lives don’t get better because of policy
and structure alone. They improve because they get what they need when they need it.
In that way people with disabilities are no different than anyone else.
Each year Quality Trust publishes a monitoring report which reviews current practices of supporting people with developmental disabilities in DC. Below is a copy of our most recent findings, too often people are not consulted about what is most important to them. When they are, they are frequently told that what they want is “not possible” or contraindicated based on
“professional “judgment. These practices will never produce quality in supports and
services. Changes in policy and practice based on individual planning and rooted in
positive values are a key element to making the improvements needed to improve the
day to day lives of people with developmental disabilities in the District of Columbia.

Other Quality Trust Reports
In January, 2006, Quality Trust released a report titled "In Search of Real Choices and Real Lives", which revealed how difficult it is for District residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities to secure high quality support services for their care.
