Our History
Quality Trust was founded as part of a settlement
in the class action lawsuit, Evans vs the District of
Columbia government, that closed Forest Haven and was
incorporated in March, 2001. The Board of Directors
was appointed by the Mayor in September, 2001. Since,
May, 2002, Quality Trust has focused on providing services
to meet the needs of all people with intellectual and
developmental disabilities in the District of Columbia.
Forest Haven is the institution located in Laurel, Maryland,
that housed District residents with a variety of mental
and intellectual disabilities.
