Mid-Month Best Practice Meetings
Dear Colleague: The Quality Trust has implemented a series of Mid-Month Best Practice meetings that bring together those persons responsible for implementing service policy in all settings where individuals with disabilities live, work, and
recreate. Mid-month Best Practice Meetings are held onsite in The Quality Trust's offices. They are confidential, open dialogs where professional practice, service planning, and service delivery concerns are discussed among
peers in a supportive environment. Strategies are posed and examined for their effectiveness in addressing specific issues; and, future topics for successive meetings are solicited from the participants themselves. The latter
ensures that Best Practice Meetings are always focused on those matters that have meaning to those who attend. We listen. From September through the end of the year, the dialog topics indicated on the attached notice are
derived from suggestions offered by participants in previous sessions. These topical items reflect recurring concerns that arise in the course of supporting people with MR/DD. We ask that you copy and circulate the
attached Best Practice Meeting schedule to your QMRPs, Program Managers, House Managers, Supervisory Staff, Advocates, Social Workers, and others whose duties bring them into routine contact with individuals who live with mental retardation
and other developmental disabilities, their families and support networks, and direct support staff. If you have further questions call Melissa Pullins, Training and Information Specialist, at 202/448 1446.
